Hello, welcome back.

We’re on the third part of our 4 part series on evangelism and being used by the Holy Ghost and the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

Part three as you see is allowing the Spirit of God to minister. This is very crucial because it us one thing to understand that yes, the Spirit of God is residing within us as believers now we are going to be used by the Spirit.

So in order to get into this, let’s talk a little bit on how the spirit of God will actually use us.

We have seen a lot of several examples talking about Peter and John at the gate called beautiful. We saw how Paul said “I fully preached the gospel with miraculous signs and following all that I do.”

We also saw in Mark 16 talking about these signs will follow those that that preach and believe in my name. They will cast out devils, they will lay hands on the sick and they will be healed.

Those are all biblical truths that are from God for the people of God.

We are going to go over to first Corinthians chapter one, to start from verse 18.

“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

[19] For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.

Where does this leave the philosophers, the scholars or all the world’s brilliant debaters?

God has made the wisdom of this world look foolish.

1 Corinthians 1:20-22;

Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

[21] For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

[22] For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:

Essentially, you have two types of people. I will make use of the analogies from the bible. So you’re going to have the some jews so who will say;

“if God is true, show me all these signs and wonders that you speak of, show me all these great things that Jesus does and all the great things that the Holy Spirit does.”

In doing that, in arrogance of their heart and the foolishness of their speaking, they’re blinded.

Now the holy spirit is does not necessarily move right because they’re being arrogant and prideful and we know that God gives grace to the humble but he opposes the proud.

God can’t go against his word. If he opposes the proud and somebody comes up and says; “well, show me since you think you can speak in tongues or since you think you can heal the dead or do miracles in Jesus name, show me all these things you know. Go into the hospital and and clean them out.”

There is a fine line to that, so let me explain it this way.

About 10 years ago, I got baptized in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. That was a spiritual gift that I longed for. As I began to speak in tongues, completely radicalized and changed for the Lord, you know this is zeal that set on you fire.

What happened is that when that kind of encounter happens in a believer’s life and you get really set on fire; If you just preach the word and you’re only learning about the word all the time, you dry up.

With too much of the Holy Spirit, you can blow up and you can get so consumed with yourself.

if blow up and you kind of become very prideful but with the word and with the Spirit, you grow up.

We need the both as a believer and it is very important that when we minister, when we evangelize, when we lead others to christ, we need both the word and the Spirit.

We need to bring the gospel message, the truth and we need to bring the Holy Spirit power.

That is what Paul said in Romans 15, when he says; “By doing this, I fully preached the gospel.”

So when I got baptized in the Holy Spirit, I went to a church, it was a specific denomination and I walked in.

As I walked in, I was very excited. I was like “wow, this must be the new church I’m going to go to.”

“The Lord just gave me this encounter, I’m baptized in the Spirit, I can speak in tongues. This is so cool and awesome.”

“It was just like this power and feeling of closeness and oneness with the Lord came over me, that I didn’t have prior to it, even though I was a christian”

That is the power of the holy ghost that urges us and and moves us into his presence.

So as I walked into this church, they were talking about how the gifts of the Holy Spirit aren’t effective today and how they went out with the apostles.

They said they were only here for the apostles and how speaking in tongues (and people who speak in tongues) are possessed by the devil.

I was kind of crazy because I just did all this stuff that they were talking about.

Nobody prayed for me, nobody did anything. I was just there, I was praying and it just happened. I can speak in tongues.

I raised my hand and said “look.” I started speaking in tongues and at that point the Pastor of the church showed up.

So I said I can speak in tongues and he replied back by saying no. He said;

“You can’t, that actually went out with the apostles, that I am full of the devil.”

Because of arrogance, I asked him what can they do about it. So that means I am just going to hell and the replied, yes.

Then he threw me out of the out of his church.

I am not saying you should go to churches and go and say that you can speak in tongues or that you are baptized in the Holy Spirit; that you are anointed and could do this and that, all this in Jesus name.

Don’t go out of line or authority but understand that at that point, I was a new believer and and I was very confused as why was a pastor explaining to me that the gifts and the workings of the spirit aren’t effective today.

Why don’t they work? I got confused that I was possessed and I was going to hell and then got thrown out of church.

Well, according to Paul, if you don’t do all those things, you are not fully preaching the gospel, right? That is what we read.

What happens is not every believer believes you can have miracles in your ministry or when you go evangelize, the Holy Ghost can meet you and people could be healed in Jesus name.

Not every not every minister believes that we are all part of one body but there is different parts in the body.

Now you don’t want to ever bash those individuals or do anything really that is going to create division right?

God is not the author of confusion or division but it is just very important to understand such.

You will see more throughout our ministry school (Higher Ground School of Ministry) so that you can learn more of these truths but I just kind of want to give you a little prelude to all this.

Anyway, back to first Corinthians verse one.

Now that you know the story of what happened with me, where does this leave all the philosophers or scholars or all these brilliant debaters?

1 Corinthians 1:20-21;

“Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

[21] For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.”

God is not mocked. You cannot put God in a boxs. A lot of ministers may accidentally try to rope God in a box and they they do it because of fear, little faith or they feel they don’t have to stay in this box. They will says: “if I get out of this box then I won’t have control over what I’m doing” and that is right.

When we allow the the Lord to minister through us — remember we are allowing God to minister — then we are not in a box.

We can’t put God in a box, if we do, he is defined to the box we have but when we release that and we say “Lord you know my preaching is foolish, I trust you to do all. These are your gifts, your anointings, your ministry. Use me.”

That is when the power of the Holy Ghost can freely manifest.

1 Corinthians 1:23-30;

“But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;

[24] But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

[25] Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

[26] For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called

[27] But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

[28] And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea , and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:

[29] That no flesh should glory in his presence.

[30] But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: ”

That is what we preach and what we teach.

We say: “Listen, Christ can make you pure. He can make you holy, he can use you and you have a direct line to him. You can come boldly before his throne because of grace right?”

Because of we are saved by grace through faith, not by works unless any of us would boast.

It is not something that we we can we can do right. The law is there to show that you were once sinners and you walked according to sin but Christ has come to give us life and that is what we preach.

1 Corinthians 2:1 ;

And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.

You don’t have to conjure up some crazy stuff. You have to know what the word says and act on it.

You have to believe in faith that the word is what it is and that God loves his creation.

That is why we serve him and tell people, because he can set us free from those bondages — That is what it means to evangelize.

1 Corinthians 2:2;

“For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.”

It is not talking about all these crazy or these analogies or books or anything of all this stuff. I didn’t want to know anything but Jesus and I preach nothing but Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 2:3-4 ;

“And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.

[4] And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power”

Very simple. The good news of God is very simple. You don’t have to go and try to conjure up on how to be used and how to perform miracles in Jesus name.

What you need to do is you need to be in your bible. You need to read the word because faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God

And as you see these things –we’ll talk about what jesus said about this and how to be used in miracles right?

So as you see these things and as you hear what the bible says to you then you’ll go.

That is exactly what paul is saying in 1 Corinthians 2:4-5 ;

“And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power.

[5] That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.”

When I showed up to you, all I did was allow the Holy Spirit to move. I said, “Lord hear this, I’m not putting you in a box, move.” Then the Holy Spirit honored that request .

Because Paul was living for the Holy Spirit, he was where he needed to be, when he needed to be. He was following him and living his life as a sacrifice as you have seen in Romans 12 — holy, acceptable and pleasing to God — and then the holy spirit met him.

1 Corinthians 2:6 ;

Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:

Here, he’s making a parallel.

There is big difference. This is an example and  hear me for what it is with grace right.

There is a big difference from standing on the side of the corner with a bible and preaching repent or die or walking as the Lord has walked and being led to somebody.

And somebody says; My mother is dying and now, all of a sudden you are right where you need to be. You feel the Holy Spirit saying go and pray for her mother and then you went and prayed for her mother. Suddenly her mother is raised out of the sick bed instantly.

That is power. That is persuasive power in simple speech.

Or the other well way, you look at the bible and give reason why she needs to repent. She is probably on her bed because she is a sinner.

That is preaching the bible out of legalistic standpoints and it is not what Christ died for.

Christ died to free you from that legality of being in bondage.

You have to understand that when we preach and use the anointing of the Holy ghost to be led by the Spirit of God then we can do those things.

However, when we are moving and talking with mature believers, then we tell them this is what the bible says and that is what is happening right.

I’m showing you what the bible says, this how and what the the individual writer and the holy ghost meant as the words are inspired.

It is useful to train, to correct, to rebuke, and to reprove the believer to build us up and bring us into unity. It is important we know these things.

1 Corinthians 2:7-10 ;

But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom , which God ordained before the world unto our glory:

[8] Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it , they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

[9] But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

[10] But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

This is what the scriptures mean when they say nobody has understood what God has prepared but now his spirit searches out the deep things of God.

Paul is explaining, sharing and saying “Listen, there is a better way to walk in the anointing, to have effective power, to have effective authority and these are the truths that you need and you need to believe with your whole heart.

1 Corinthians 2:11-15 ;

“For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

[12] Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

[13] Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

[14] But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them , because they are spiritually discerned.

[15] But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.

We are going to stop right there.

So again, Paul is explaining, “hey, you have to be spiritual, you have to be walking according to the Spirit, you have to be humble, you have to be teachable, you have to be able to be pliable you.

You are the the clay and God is the potter. You have to allow him to mold you.

There are some vessels for honor and some for dishonor. Which do you choose to be?

Well, we want to choose to be the vessel for honor, so we must allow God to lead us, guide us and use us and show us his plan.

Then look in the scripture for the truth. As you do, God will reveal it. Do not go outside of the scripture.

Find the truth in the scripture. The best I can do without using stuff outside of the scripture is point you back to the scripture.

This because it is what gives you life hope and that is where your future is.

Let’s go to John chapter 5 and then we’re going to start in verse 16. We will see what exactly happens here with Jesus.

John 5:16-18;

And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day.

[17] But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.

[18] Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.

Again, these are legalistic individuals. They’re studying the law and trying to keep the it.

They are very legalistic and they don’t understand who is this man that is coming here and disrupting what we know, telling everybody that they have to trust God instead of doing works.

The goodness about God is we just say “Lord here I am, use me” and we allow his spirit to use us and we don’t put him in a box.

That is how we allow God to minister through us, okay?

John 5:18 ;

“Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.”

This is going to be some kind of filet mignon.

Jesus says God is my father and  the bible narrates how they tried to kill him because he called God their father (making themselves equal with God).

So he was united with the Lord as one spirit with the him. We are equal with God in terms of the authority given to us to free the oppressed and heal the sick.

We understand that God is our father, and by him being our father, we have an inheritance.

So we have to understand; How did God work on earth? How did he talk? What did he do? How did he know what to do?

We can then understand how we can be used in that same manifestation of power and authority because we are united with christ in one spirit.

The bible clearly says that he who is united with him have one spirit. They don’t go on continuing to sin but they lay that down because the spirit allows them to lay that down.

John 5:19-24;

“Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

[20] For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.

[21] For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them ; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.

[22] For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:

[23] That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.

[24] Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”

This means that once we believe, we’ve already passed from death to life, okay?

John 5:25-30 ;

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.

[26] For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;

[27] And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.

[28] Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,

[29] And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

[30] I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.”

There are few important parts here.

When we are going out to minister and evangelize or tell the world of who jesus is, the the biggest thing is, is It Calvinism or Arminianism?

Let me tell you what the bible says according to what Jesus says from his own mouth;

John 5:25 ;

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.”

John 5:29 ;

“And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.”

So I can’t tell you where you’re going after that conclusion especially if it isheaven or hell.

We don’t tell people if they’re going to heaven or hell but what we can do is to say “that according to the word of God, if you receive Jesus and you accept him, then his promise isyou will go to heaven.

But we can’t condemn people to hell because they backslide.

If for instance you pray for somebody they receive jesus and now all of a sudden they backslided, you can’t really tell okay?

I don’t know unless you repent then you go to heaven, maybe you’ll go to hell.

According to what Jesus said himself, those who continue in evil will rise to judgment.

It is important to understand that our mission as ministers, as evangelists, is to tell the world that there is a better way with Jesus. He loves us and  if we accept him, we can have eternal life.

It is up to God, he is the judge.

A lot of people run around saying, “well, you know what, God is my judge.”

Yeah he is, and a lot of people are living in sin and you probably don’t want him to judge you because you’re living in sin.

By the power of the Holy Ghost, we can be broken free from that sin and that bondage that so easily entangles us and live in freedom.

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm so that you don’t be in bondage again (that is in Galatians five) understanding that he has set us free.

How do we understand or when do we know how to be used?

Jesus said “I only do what the father shows me.”

So we must do what the Holy Spirit shows us we must do what the Father shows us and we get to that spot(place) by spending time in the word daily, renewing ourselves, our mind, understanding exactly who we are in christ.

It is the next thing we are going to talk about and that is the purpose of leading another person to salvation and being led by the spirit of God

This is what I have for you in this article but we’re going to have one more series.

It is going to be very simple but it is kind of wrapping everything we talked about so far.

Thank you so much.

I love you guys.
